4 JPOs in North Jakarta Prone to Collapse

North Jakarta Transportation Sub-dept does survey to some pedestrian bridges (JPO). It is to anticipate the incident of the collapsed bridge in Pasar Minggu a few days ago. 

Billboard structure must be strengthened

Based on the data gathered, there are 24 bridges in North Jakarta. 4 out of them are surveyed by related unit because there are billboards at some bridges, namely Gunung Sahari in Pademangan, Harco Mangga Dua in Ancol, and two bridges in Jembatan Tiga, Pluit.

North Jakarta Transportation Sub-dept Head, Benhard Hutajulu disclosed, from survey results, four bridges require to be repaired. The damage is more to bridge construction and billboard iron pole.

"Billboard structure must be strengthened," he told, Monday (9/26).

According to him, such condition is potentially harmful to bridge and highway users as prone to collapse. Moreover, the last few days, rain accompanied by strong winds often occurs.

"It should be re-welding on beams of the bridge, including the carbonate poly roof. Its floor also needs to be replaced," he asserted.

Related to the rest bridges that have not been checked, Bernard admitted will send personnel to do data collection and inventory. Aside that, the Tax Service Sub-dept would also do supervision against billboard tax in question, thus can be evaluated.
